Evaluative report

This project required a lot of thinking and interaction, and at the same time quite challenging. It involved making a game which people would enjoy playing, and at the same time incorporating historical facts from the area into the game. The location researched was Camberwell Green.
Camberwell Green is such a small community and does not have much to offer, so it was very difficult to find something relevant to my chosen pathway, the green spaces in the Camberwell green was researched but there was only one green space as it is so small, there were not many buildings of significance and Camberwell green does not have a public museum, mainly consisting of small family run business/shops.
Researching this space revealed that there were 5 different types of butterflies which have some sort of meaning which was a starting point for the project,
Then after further investigation there was no evidence so this was another turning point.

Putting this project together was enjoyable, coming up with a format in which the game would be presented to the other group. We were inspired by puzzles and chose to produce the game in that design, with pictures of places to find on the top of the board with maps under the pictures, and clues attached inside.

After this process of putting the game together, we played others
First thought was it was exciting and brain teasing with quite a lot of interaction with the public, then my opinions changed as we played the game it was taking too long to find clues and some clues was left with members of different organisation which made it even harder to find as one lady went out so she missed us, it was only by chance when we walked back and started looking for clues again that we met with the lady. By this time it was getting late and there was more to find, the game was found to have too much information in it to, some of the clues were not clear enough, and there was a lot to find so the clues should have been a bit simpler as it took too long finding them. The game should have been more thought through. A good understanding of the area was not displayed well. It also appeared that the group did not work as a team.
A lot of the clues were based around the Voltaire studio which shows the lack of knowledge of the area; as a result of all this we were unable to complete the game which was quite disappointing.
